Blog; About

I started this blog for several reasons; mostly covered in my An Enchanted Welcome post. But I thought I'd go into a little detail about the setup and posts in my blog.

Posts

First I'd like to touch a little on the "Progress and Goals" entries. These are more of a catalog of what I'm up to, what's been recently accomplished; fairly self explanatory by nature. Their main purpose is to keep me accountable and track the process I'm going through.
Also there are "Article" and "Share" posts. I'm hoping to have these eventually set on a once or twice monthly schedule. These posts will range in content from helpful advice to sharing parts of the writing experience, with a view towards sharing knowledge and providing support. I plan to cover things from useful software and products to personal methods and perspectives.

Links

You will come across many links in my posts; some will be to products listed, articles sited, other posts mentioned, and even Google searches. But many of these will be to Wikipedia articles or something similar. A professor I knew once said in regards to doing research 'Wikipedia is a great place to start, but horrible place to end.' What he was trying to admonish was that though Wiki articles are sometimes a great compilation of information to begin your research path with, they are also publicly edited information which can sometimes be colored by the author or editor's personal opinions, lack of research or a number of other factors making it not necessarily the best place to find all your information on. That being said it is very difficult to list hordes of information about an aspect of a post that may have little to do with the subject material. SO, in the interest of sharing information I will list a launch point for my readers, but I do encourage you to do your own research on anything in my articles that you wish to do further reading on.
Also, I would encourage my readers to email me with any queries you may have or information that you may have found regarding something you had to look up on your own that I did not list so that I may have the opportunity to improve my articles for future readers. Or post in a comment on the article.

Comments

This brings me to my final point; comments. Please do not be offended that your post does not show right away on my blog. Due to the prevalence of internet spamming, and the like, I do moderate ALL comments. Sometimes it will take me a few days to check my moderation listings, but I do try to check them at least once a week. I kindly ask that you bare with me and know that the time taken to read and comment is very appreciated.
